  • Royals' Dairon Blanco: Swipes bag in win

    Rotowire

Blanco went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Guardians.

Blanco started for the first time since June 23, playing in place of MJ Melendez in left field against lefty Logan Allen. While he's not getting many at-bats, Blanco's speed remains top notch -- he logged six steals while going 4-for-23 over 14 contests in June. The outfielder has a .237/.289/.316 slash line with 17 thefts, one home run, four RBI, 20 runs scored and three doubles across 84 plate appearances in a reserve role this year.

The first baseman's recent surge has him up to a .247/.321/.436 slash line for the year, nearly identical to his marks over 61 contests in 2023. He's added 10 home runs, 55 RBI, 39 runs scored, 21 doubles and two triples through 82 games this year, playing on a near-everyday basis between first base and designated hitter.

    Rotowire

Witt went 3-for-4 with a triple, one RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Guardians.

Witt had gone 10 games without a multi-hit effort before Sunday's performance. The shortstop closed the month 33-for-108 (.306) with 12 extra-base hits, 12 RBI, 14 runs scored and six stolen bases over 27 contests. Through 86 games this year, Witt is slashing .312/.363/.534 with 12 home runs, 22 stolen bases, 54 RBI, 65 runs, 22 doubles and nine triples. He's made modest gains in plate discipline with a 7.3 percent walk rate (up from 5.9 percent last year) and 16.7 percent strikeout rate (down from 17.4 percent) to sustain his elite production.

    Stats

  • Royals' Seth Lugo: Dazzles with 10 Ks

    Rotowire

Lugo was dominant Sunday, throwing 66 of his 93 pitches for strikes en route to 10 strikeouts. The 34-year-old logged his fourth consecutive quality start and his 14th of the season, tied for first in MLB. Over his past four starts, the right-hander has registered a robust 1.46 ERA along with a 1.01 WHIP and 30:7 K:BB over 24.2 innings. He will look to keep rolling his next time out, currently scheduled for next weekend in Colorado.

  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Launches 14th home run

    Rotowire

Perez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Sunday's win against Cleveland.

Perez belted his 14th home run of the season Sunday, adding a third RBI on a fielder's choice. The 34-year-old had a rough June in which he batted just .194, but Perez remains one of the most reliable catchers in fantasy. On the season, Perez is batting .281 with 14 home runs, 16 doubles and 32 runs scored in 83 games played.

    Rotowire

Pasquantino went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Guardians.

The first baseman opened the scoring for his squad in the first inning by taking Tanner Bibee deep, but the Royals' offense dried up after that. Pasquantino has gone yard in back-to-back games and has a six-game RBI streak going, batting .348 (8-for-23) over that stretch with a double, three homers and eight RBI.

  • Royals' Cole Ragans: Hit hard by Guardians

    Rotowire

Ragans (5-6) took the loss Saturday, coughing up five runs on six hits and a walk over 4.2 innings as the Royals were downed 7-2 by the Guardians. He struck out six.

The big blow off the southpaw was a two-run blast by rookie Jhonkensy Noel in the fourth inning, but Ragans also got tagged for doubles by Josh Naylor and Jose Ramirez, with the latter chasing him from the game in the fifth after 93 pitches (52 strikes). Ragans hadn't given up more than three runs in a start since May 11, and he'll take a 3.33 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 126:34 K:BB through 102.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next weekend in Colorado.

Witt previously went 10 games without a steal and hit just .184 (7-for-38) in that span. While that's a rare cold stretch for the shortstop, he salvaged it by knocking five extra-base hits in that period. Witt is up to 22 steals this year while adding 12 home runs, 53 RBI, 63 runs scored and a .310/.363/.531 slash line over 84 contests.

    Rotowire

Garcia went 2-for-5 with a double, two stolen bases and two runs scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Guardians.

Garcia was briefly bumped down the order last weekend, but he hasn't really rebounded since returning to the leadoff spot for the last five games. His multi-hit effort Friday was his first since June 14 and just his third such game in June, a month in which he's batting .153 (15-for-98). The infielder is now at a .234/.288/.347 slash line with five home runs, 40 RBI, 51 runs scored and 21 steals over 82 contests, with his speed being the biggest upside in his game this year.

The 27-year-old continues to hold onto a starting role in center field, slashing .235/.280/.390 with a career-high six homers through 67 contests. He's added 22 RBI, 28 runs scored, four stolen bases, five doubles and four triples this season.

Renfroe went back-to-back with Salvador Perez in the second inning, and the Royals never looked back. This was Renfroe's second multi-hit effort in seven games since he returned from a bruised toe. He's up to eight homers, 28 RBI, 25 runs scored and one stolen base while slashing .211/.292/.389 through 63 contests. As long as Adam Frazier (thumb) remains on the injured list, Renfroe should see a majority of the playing time in right field for the Royals.
